Henry Bachmann was born in 1940 in Rothenburg, Switzerland.
He grew up and went to School in Rothenburg and Emmen (Switzerland).
1956-1960 Apprenticeship as a blacksmith, Academy of Art, Lucerne where he studied painting under Max von Moos, drawing under Godi Hofmann and wrought iron under W. Egloff.
1966-1970 Studies in architecture
Hochschule für Gestaltung, Ulm (Germany) and Texas A&M University (USA).
1974-1976 Graduate studies in regional-planing and urban-design. Attended various courses in painting.
Architectural Association London (GB).
1990-2005 Painting, drawing, printing
Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst, Zürich.
2003-2004 Studies in painting under Prof. Ralf Kehrbach
Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Dresden (Germany).
1995-1999 Educational trips to Toscany, Piemont (Italy) and Tessin (CH).
